Ford Explorer's seats have been completely redesigned for 2020. The new front buckets feature more supportive contours and available massaging functions, while the second-row bench has been replaced with two captain's chairs that can slide and recline.

Heated and cooled front seats are standard on all trims now, as is a heated steering wheel. In addition, a new 10-way power passenger seat is available, and both front seats can be upgraded to have Active Motion, which uses motors to provide a gentle massage. The third row has less legroom than before but is easier to get into, thanks to the standard hands-free liftgate and available tip-and-slide second-row seats.

The new seats are wrapped in premium Nappa leather and offer a more pleasant driving experience – both on the road and at home. This wrapping, however, is an additional comfort. Overall, the changes to the seats are a welcomed update to the Ford Explorer. The new seats are more comfortable and offer more features than the previous model.
